Art Jakarta 2025: Southeast Asia’s Premier Art Fair Returns

Art Jakarta 2025, Indonesia’s most anticipated art fair, will take place from 3–5 October 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Bringing together 75 notable galleries from 16 countries across Asia and beyond, the fair reflects the resilience and dynamism of Southeast Asia’s art scene. This year’s edition will feature a diverse program of special presentations, cross-cultural collaborations, and institutional showcases, further strengthening Jakarta’s position as a vital hub for contemporary art in the region.

The fair is supported by its Lead Partners: Julius Baer, Bibit, Treasury, and BCA, each contributing unique artistic presentations. Highlights include Eddie Hara’s Postcards from the Alps at the Julius Baer VIP Lounge, a bold new installation CALL 911. DESTROY BAD ART, Bibit’s showcase of Agus Suwage’s works, Treasury’s special project Reserve of Care with award-winning young artists, and a distinctive art installation by Muklay at the BCA booth. These collaborations underline the fair’s commitment to fostering dialogue between artists, institutions, and the wider community.

Art Jakarta 2025 also presents its acclaimed curated sections. SPOT will highlight special installations and large-scale works by leading Indonesian artists such as Ardi Gunawan, Endry Pragusya, and Aditya Novali. SCENE provides a platform for collectives and independent artist groups, featuring 31 participants from across Indonesia. AJX focuses on institutional collaborations, including the Korea Focus program and showcases from MTN and ISI Bali, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and cultural exchange in Southeast Asia’s art ecosystem.

Looking ahead, Art Jakarta Papers 2026 will be previewed at the fair, spotlighting the medium of paper in contemporary art. This new initiative will explore drawings, prints, sculptures, and paper-based installations, aiming to foster a vibrant market and appreciation for paper art in Indonesia. The continuation of Art Jakarta Papers underscores the fair’s evolving vision to explore new formats while sustaining the pulse of contemporary art.

With a strong presence of international galleries, visionary partners, and innovative programming, Art Jakarta 2025 promises to be a must-visit event for collectors, institutions, and art enthusiasts alike. Tickets will be available starting 9 September 2025 exclusively at artjakarta.com.
